The Panther and the Maiden is the first sacrificial bride fic we did with Thandi being sacrificed to Briar, a god of the forest. It outlines a lot of the ideas we ended up keeping in future fics of the same nature— a living tree home for Thandi, Thandi exploring a future in godhood, giving Briar a reason to embrace humanity— but it also had some shaky ground that got improved in the future as well.
It received a lot of complaints from the peanut gallery as well because I draw Briar JACKED in this one. He’s a god! Let him be jacked! There’s a few other complaints— but back then we got nitpicked for a lot of weird things so…
